Before it was demolished in the 1990’s, the old Walled City of Kowloon was the emblematic example of Hong Kong’s extreme compression, maximum density, minimal voids, and exaggerated verticality. This project is an experimental revisit to the same site.

An old toxic dump was discovered underneath eight apartment blocks, prompting the Myllypuro municipality to demolish the buildings. This is a proposal to convert the 100,000 cubic meters of building rubble into a green park based on the shapes of the former shadows of the former buildings.
